Clipper Cruise Line was founded in 1982 by St. Louis-businessman Barney Ebsworth. The line then was acquired by INTRAV, a St. Louis, Missouri- based travel operator of deluxe international tours and air/sea packages. Two years later, INTRAV and Clipper were acquired by Kuoni, a Swiss tour company. Clipper today offers a wide array of international and domestic light-adventure voyages aboard its four small ships.

Silversea Cruises was created in the early 1990s by the Lefebvre family in Rome, former owners of Sitmar Cruises. Started 25 years ago, Blackbeard Cruises operates three Coast Guard sailboats that can be chartered for diving excursions in the outer isleands of the Bahamas. The Cat Ppalu's is a schooner-rigged catamaran that can be chartered for pleasure/research cruises to the northern Exhumas in the Bahamas. The Aqua Cat is a 102-foot catamaran that is set up for individuals or group charters. Blackbeard's Charters does all the bookings for the vessels.
